He was born in September 1929 in Tehran. He is an Iranian wrestler, wrestling referee and sports director. He refereed the Rome Olympic Games and the Yokohama 1961 World Wrestling Championship. At the World Championships, in Yokohama he was the team manager of the Iranian national freestyle wrestling team, which was associated with Iran's first world championship. Before the Revolution of 1978, Khadem Haghighat was the president of the Iranian Wrestling Federation in three stages (1966-1967, 1972-1975 and 1978-1979).
