Mrs. Ashraf Vahidian was born in 1941 in Tehran. She was a volleyball player, coach and team manager of the Iranian women's national volleyball team and a university lecturer. On Friday, September 6, 1963, she became the first captain of the Iranian women's national volleyball team in the first match of the national team against Japan.

Vahidian holds a Master's degree in Physical Education from the University of Tehran. She finished fourth as the national team coach in the 1970 Asian Games in Bangkok. She has also been the Vice president of the Volleyball Federation.
