Born on October 6, 1958 in Tehran, he is an Iranian football player. He started playing football in Shahin Football Club in Tehran. In 1968, he went to Persepolis Football Club. He retired from football in 1974. Tavoosi became the president of the Football Federation after the 1979 Iranian Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War (October 6, 1980 - August 8, 1981). He was the second president of the federation after the revolution. Tavoosi was selected as one of the permanent figures of Persepolis Tehran club in a ceremony held in May 2013. He has been active in Shahin Tehran, Persepolis and Peykan clubs.
