He one of the veteran goalkeepers of football. He played for many years in Pas Club, Taj Tehran Esteghlal and the Iranian national football team and is considered one of the prominent Iranian goalkeepers. Faramarz Zelli was also the goalkeeper of the national team for seven years. He is currently the secretary of the Iranian Football Veterans Association.

He was selected as the coach of the U-23 national team and traveled to Bahrain and Oman with this team. Then he worked with Heshmat Mohajerani as the coach of the national youth team and won the championship in Asia. He coached the Military Industry and Eghbal teams until he founded the football school. Proper education of the grassroots and investing in children has always been his belief.

Faramarz Zelli has been a consultant for Saipa Alborz Football Club for some time and is also a member of the technical committee of the veteran team and the team manager of this team.
