Iranian Hercules sets new record
World's strongest man Behdad Salimi has set a new record in weightlifting's super heavy weight category during the weightlifting championships in Kordestan, Iran.

The Iranian weightlifting champion lifted 217 kilograms in the snatch last week, proving himself as a modern Hercules.

He broke the world's record, which was formerly set by Iranian champion Hossein Rezazadeh, who had snatched 213 kilograms in 2003 championships.

Salimi lifted 209 kilograms in his first attempt, and lifted 214 kilograms for the second time. He successfully elevated 217 kilograms over head in his third attempt.

He won the title of the world's strongest man in Asia weightlifting championship in China in 2011.

Furthermore, he was crowned as +105kg champion at the world weightlifting championships in Antalya in 2010.
