Taekwondo champion Aryan Salimi and weightlifting athlete Mahsa Beheshti administered the official oath to the Iranian delegation heading to the 20th Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

NOC; Tehran: The oath-taking took place at the conclusion of the delegation’s
farewell ceremony. The solemn pledge was delivered by Salimi and Beheshti,
representing the nation’s elite athletes, as they committed to competing with
honor and dedication.
The
text of the oath stated: “In the name of God, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and
the proud people of Iran; in memory of the glorious martyrs of this land, the
‘Minab Angels,’ and our martyred leader: We, the athletes of Iran, born on this
land, swear by the sacred flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran, by Iranian
honor, and by the dignity of our great nation, to enter the arena with faith,
will, and all our strength to strive for the glory of Iran.”
The
athletes further pledged: “We swear to never cease our efforts until the final
moment, utilizing everything within our power to honor Iran and raise our
sacred flag. If we emerge victorious, we shall prostrate in gratitude before
God; if we face defeat, we shall return with heads held high, more experienced,
and with unshakeable resolve. By the blood of the martyrs, the tears of the
mothers of Minab, and the honor of the Iranian people, we swear to compete with
all our might, for honor, for glory, and for Iran.”
