Farewell Ceremony for ‘Minab Angels’ ahead of 2026 Asian Games
A farewell ceremony for the “Minab Angels” delegation, set to compete in the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026, was held at the National Olympic Academy in memory of the martyrs of Shajare Tayyeba School in Minab.

Iran NOC; Tehran: The event was attended by the Minister of Sports, National Olympic Committee (NOC) officials, federation presidents, and athletes. The proceedings commenced with a symbolic tree-planting ceremony by the families of the Minab martyrs, followed by the signing of a memorial book and the creation of a commemorative mural. After congregational prayers, the program included a documentary titled “Nagoya Flag Bearers,” featuring Wushu athlete Zahra Kiani and Kabaddi athlete Fazel Atrachali, alongside speeches and traditional sports performances. The ceremony concluded with the official oath-taking by Taekwondo athlete Aryan Salimi and Weightlifting athlete Mahsa Beheshti, followed by the national anthem, “Ey Iran.” The 20th Asian Games will be held in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, 2026. The Iranian delegation is set to participate in the event with 312 athletes.
