NOC Executive Board Holds 67th Meeting
Following the 67th Executive Board meeting, NOC Secretary General Dr. Mahdi Alinejad announced the date for the upcoming electoral assembly, an increase in Olympians’ salary, and a change in the female flagbearer for the Nagoya Asian Games.

Iran NOC; Tehran: The NOC Executive Board officially scheduled the NOC’s next electoral assembly for 28 of December 2026 To ensure transparency. The board finalized a comprehensive list of expert members, club representatives, and coaches eligible to vote, ensuring continuity with the previous year’s assembly composition. The agenda for the assembly will also include the review of annual audit reports and financial statements for current and past year.  Addressing current economic situation, the board approved a 50% increase in monthly financial support for the Olympians, for approximately 65 athletes. Furthermore, the board updated the assembly membership; the MMA Association was removed from the list, as it has separated from the Federation of Martial Arts Associations and no longer holds representation in the Asian Games. Regarding the flagbearer, Wushu world champion Zahra Kiani will replace Karateka Atousa Golshadnezhad. Dr. Alinejad explained that the decision was driven by logistical constraints regarding the distance between the karate team’s accommodation and the opening ceremony venue. “Technical priorities take precedence,” Alinejad noted, emphasizing the need to prevent athlete fatigue before competition. Additionally, the board approved a new bonus policy, granting federations 50% of the total medal prize money to be distributed among technical staff and managers at their discretion.
