Olympic Museum’s Active Role in 2nd OMN Marketing Task Force Intl. Meeting
The National Sport Olympic Museum participated actively in the second international meeting of the Olympic Museum Network (OMN) Marketing Task Force, a body affiliated with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), showcasing its ongoing engagement with the global network.

Iran NOC; Tehran: Representing Iran at the virtual summit were Mohammadreza Oveysi, Director of the National Olympic Museum, and Maryam Feizasa, Museum’s International Affairs Expert. The meeting brought together representatives from member museums across Greece, Germany, Switzerland, China, Estonia, South Korea, and Spain. During the session, Siim Randa, Director of the Estonian Sport and Olympic Museum and head of the OMN Marketing Task Force, introduced a preliminary concept for an interactive “Digital Globe” to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the OMN. As part of this presentation, the Iranian National Sport, Olympic, and Paralympic Museum was highlighted on the digital map, leading to a direct introduction of Iran’s Olympic museum to the international attendees via its official website.

The proposed Digital Globe project features an interactive 3D globe that allows users to virtually “carry” the Olympic torch from the Olympic Museum in Lausanne through all 36 member museums worldwide. As users navigate this digital journey, they are presented with detailed information regarding the history of sports and the Olympics in each respective country. The experience concludes by generating shareable content for social media, encouraging users to act as “digital ambassadors” for the global network.

Following the technological presentation, the meeting transitioned into a specialized “Marketing Deep Dive” session, where the German Sport and Olympic Museum shared its expertise and successful strategies regarding “Live Marketing” and event-based engagement. In the concluding segment, Megan Drasič, Director of Network Development for the Olympic Museum Network, specifically commended the active involvement of Iran National Olympic Museum. She praised the detailed reports submitted by the Iranian museum director regarding ongoing projects and initiatives, as well as the museum’s consistent cooperation with the task force.
