The third meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia’s (OCA) Para-Asian Games Committee, chaired by Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, convened to advance disability sports across the continent.

NOC; Tehran: Key discussions focused on strengthening strategic collaboration
between the OCA and the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) to foster greater
inclusivity. During the virtual session, members welcomed a proposal by APC
President Majid Rashed to sign a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
between the OCA and APC, aiming to establish a framework for supporting
para-athletes throughout Asia.
The
committee also unanimously approved a revised mission and strategic objectives
document, which will be submitted to the OCA secretariat for publication.
Furthermore, the committee agreed in principle to hold their next in-person
meeting alongside the Asian Indoor Games in Saudi Arabia, scheduled for
December 2026.
In
his concluding remarks, President Khosravi Vafa underscored the OCA’s firm
commitment to elevating disability sports, praising the active engagement of
regional delegates from Kazakhstan, Korea, and Uzbekistan. The meeting also
explored innovative proposals, including the integration of para-sport
competitions into the Asian Indoor Games and the expansion of the Para-Asian
Beach Games, both of which received strong endorsement from the APC leadership.
