Iran NOC; Tehran: During the visit to the National Olympic Academy,
NOC Secretary General Dr. Mahdi Alinejad emphasized the sport’s critical role
in Iran’s medal strategy for the upcoming Games. With roughly 40 days remaining
until the competition in Japan, Alinejad stressed that the quality of final
preparations is paramount, noting that this period is decisive for the team’s
future success. He highlighted the recent allocation of a dedicated training
facility at the Academy as a clear sign of the committee’s continued investment
and support for the Kurash program.
North Khorasan Governor-General Bahman Nouri underscored the
importance of sports in fostering societal health and spirit, urging the
athletes to serve as positive role models for the public. To incentivize the
squad, Nouri officially pledged reward for any athlete from North Khorasan who
secures a gold medal in Aichi-Nagoya. This commitment was welcomed by the team,
highlighting the strong regional backing for the athletes as they prepare to
