NOC Women & Sports Commission Holds 16th Meeting
The 16th meeting of the Women and Sports Commission addressed strategic initiatives, including the expansion of athlete protection workshops, an analysis of media representation for female athletes, and the development of new frameworks to assess gender equity across national sports federations.

Iran NOC; Tehran: Dr. Farhadizad, NOC Vice President and Chair of the Commission, announced that the “Athlete Protection” training program will be implemented in five provinces during the second half of the year in collaboration with the Badminton Federation. These workshops have been strategically expanded to include not only athletes, coaches, and team managers, but also parents, offering participants professional development incentives upon completion. While this positive trajectory has improved social and governmental support, the commission cautioned that celebrating individual victories must not overshadow the need to address persistent structural and cultural challenges to ensure long-term sustainability. Furthermore, the session introduced a proposal by Dr. Ghaebi aimed at evaluating gender representation within sports federations using three distinct lenses: equality, equity, and balance.
