The Iranian national U17 freestyle wrestling team clinched second place at the World Championships in Azerbaijan, finishing their campaign with a total of six medals, including three golds.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Held recently in Baku, the event featured a highly
competitive team race. Iran finished with 145 points, narrowly missing the
championship title by just one point behind Russia. This performance
underscores the strength and depth of Iranian youth wrestling program on the
global stage. Iran’s gold medalists were Benyamin Ashofteh (51kg), Reza
Shamsipour (71kg), and Amirali Farasati (80kg). Amirhossein Esmaeli secured the
silver medal in the 110kg category, while Arman Elahi (55kg) and Sam Arshad
(65kg) rounded out the medal tally with bronze victories. Final Team Standings:
