NOC Technology & Innovation Dept. Holds 7th Meeting
The seventh specialized meeting of the National Olympic Committee’s Technology and Innovation Department took place with the Director of the National Teams Monitoring Center and department members in attendance to discuss strategic digital transformation.

Iran NOC; Tehran: Dr. Reza Shajie opened the session by presenting a report on the “National Framework for Smart Transformation, Data Governance, and Artificial Intelligence for the National Olympic Committee.” He outlined the framework’s core pillars, including the digital governance model, strategic outcomes, the definition of a “Smart Olympic Organization,” international benchmarking of various nations, and the project’s comprehensive roadmap. He also noted that recent research indicates a 40% growth in the domestic trend toward sports technology. Dr. Shajie emphasized the necessity of digitizing processes and the targeted application of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve championship performance, athlete health, services, and event management.

 

Following this, IT Manager Mohammad Abiri provided technical details regarding the implementation and infrastructure for an in-house AI system, including the procurement of GPUs, data management equipment, server security systems, and other necessary measures. In another segment of the meeting, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Maleki, Chair of the Technology and Innovation Department, presented the department’s design model based on the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Olympic AI Agenda. The model was reviewed and officially approved by the department members.
