Iranian national athletes across archery, weightlifting, jujitsu, and diving underwent rigorous physical, medical, and psychological evaluations at the National Olympic Academy to optimize their preparation for the Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
Iran NOC; Tehran: In a systematic effort to ensure peak
performance, the female national archery team—featuring compound archers Gisa
Baiverdi, Shiva Bakhtiari, and Bita Asheghzadeh, alongside recurve archer
Mobina Fallah—completed extensive medical examinations, fitness tests, and
mental assessments. Simultaneously, athletes from the diving, jujitsu, and
weightlifting national teams underwent phased medical screenings conducted by
the Sports Medicine Federation, which included specialized cardiovascular,
orthopedic, dental, nutritional, and psychological consultations.
A dedicated technical session was also held to analyze
the physical and psychological profiles of the national weightlifting team,
attended by head coach Behdad Salimi and academy experts. The meeting focused
on personalized psychological interventions, cognitive mapping, and tailored
physical training strategies designed to address individual athletic strengths
and areas for improvement. The weightlifting technical staff plans to conduct a
final round of evaluations in late August, introducing advanced
electromyography (EMG) testing to closely monitor muscle activity. This
scientific approach marks a milestone, as the weightlifting squad prepares to
become the first national team to complete three consecutive phases of
specialized evaluations before competing in the Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
