Hosein Kheirinia has been elected president of the Iran Skating Federation after securing the majority of votes in the federation’s electoral assembly.

NOC; Tehran: At the election meeting, held with the presence of Deputy Sports
Minister Mohammad Shervin Asboughian and National Olympic Committee Secretary
General Mahdi Alinejad, Kheirinia competed against Maryam Bakhshi for the
federation presidency. In the first round, he received 25 votes to Bakshi’s 24,
sending the contest to a second round. Kheirinia then won the runoff 26-23 to
claim the postision. Earlier in the assembly, Sadegh Zahiri Nasab and Mohammad
Ajam Khorasani had withdrawn from the election.
