Iran’s mixed taekwondo team claimed the 2026 Taekwondo Team World Cup title after producing a dominant performance against Russia in the final.

Mohammadi, Amirreza Sadeghian and Amirsina Bakhtiari, secured the championship
trophy after two consecutive victories over Russia in the final. The team was
guided by head coaches Mehrooz Saei and Payam Khanlarakhani. Iran started the
final with a close and intense opening round but gradually took control of the
contest through strong performances from its athletes and timely tactical
decisions by the coaching staff.
The
Iranian team finished the first round with a 75-60 victory, putting significant
pressure on the Russian side. In the second round, Iran delivered a commanding
display, increasing the gap through consecutive attacks and superior technical
performance. The national team defeated Russia 115-25 to seal the title in
emphatic fashion and secure the 2026 Taekwondo Team World Cup crown.
The
victory once again highlighted Iran’s strength in international taekwondo
competitions and added another major team achievement to the country’s growing
record on the global stage.
