Mental Recovery Webinar Held for Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Teams
The National Olympic Academy’s Sports Psychology Center has organized a specialized webinar on mental recovery after failure and injury as part of its educational programs for athletes and national team coaches preparing for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.

Iran NOC; Tehran: The webinar aimed to promote athletes’ mental health and provide scientific strategies for overcoming the psychological challenges caused by injuries and setbacks in elite sports. The session was presented by Seyed Mostafa Shirkhodaei Kashani. During the webinar, participants discussed the psychological impact of failures and injuries, emphasizing that such experiences affect not only athletes’ physical condition but also their emotions, confidence and mental resilience.

 

The session also addressed common reactions such as anxiety, disappointment, anger and fear of returning to competition. The program further focused on practical approaches including emotional regulation, rebuilding self-confidence, correcting negative self-talk, gradual goal setting, mental imagery and the importance of support from coaches, families and medical teams. The Sports Psychology Center highlighted that with a scientific and step-by-step approach, setbacks can become opportunities for personal growth, stronger resilience and a more powerful return to competition.
