The fifth meeting of the Athletes’ Commission of Iran’s National Olympic Committee was held with the majority of members in attendance, focusing on key preparations for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi–Nagoya.

NOC; Tehran: The session reviewed several items on its agenda, including the
introduction of candidates to serve as flag bearers for Iran’s delegation at
the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi–Nagoya. Members discussed the selection process
as part of the delegation’s early preparations for the continental event.
The
meeting also addressed arrangements related to the upcoming funeral ceremony
for the martyred Leader in Tehran. The NOC’s Director of Logistics presented a preparation
report and the plans made to host members of the sporting community. Commission
members emphasized the importance of strong participation by athletes and
called for effective communication to ensure a dignified presence of Iran’s
sports community at the ceremony.
It
was also decided that a conference titled “Transition from Championship
Experience” be held in August, bringing together Olympians and national
champions to share their experiences. The meeting took place in the absence of
commission Chair Ali Pakdaman, as well as Hassan Taftian, Rahman Amouzad,
Mohammadreza Geraei, Danial Saveh-Shemshaki and Nahid Kiani, while several
members attended either in person or online.
