The National Olympic Committee has finalized the sports disciplines and athlete quotas for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s delegation to the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Iran
NOC; Tehran: This finalization follows
several rounds of expert technical consultations with national federations. The
decision to select specific disciplines and athlete numbers was based on
rigorous performance evaluations, current readiness assessments, medal
potential, and the broader strategic objectives for the national sports
delegation.
The NOC
is currently completing the formal registration of 282 athletes—comprising 191
men and 91 women—through the official portal of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian
Games Organizing Committee.
In a
symbolic tribute, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s delegation will compete in
this major continental event under the name of the martyrs of the
“Feresteh-haye Minab” (Angels of Minab) school. This naming highlights the
cultural and spiritual values the delegation carries as they prepare to
represent the nation in Aichi-Nagoya.
