Iran’s Sadra Ebrahimi has claimed the bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Triathlon Cup for juniors in Astana, delivering one of the country’s strongest recent performances in the discipline.
Iran
NOC; Tehran: The event, held in Kazakhstan with 41 athletes from across Asia
and Europe, saw Ebrahimi complete the sprint distance—750m swim, 20km cycling,
and 5km run—in 59:33 to finish third behind competitors from Belarus and
Russia.
Competing
as part of the Asia Triathlon Confederation’s development initiative (Team
Asia), Ebrahimi remained in contention throughout the race, posting 10:24 in
swimming, 31:11 on the bike, and 16:56 in the run. He crossed the line just 20
seconds behind the winner in a tightly packed finish.
The
narrow margins between the podium finishers underlined the high level of
competition, with only eight seconds separating second and third place. The
result marks a significant achievement for Iranian triathlon at junior level
and highlights Ebrahimi’s emergence on the continental stage.
