OCA Marks Key Milestones as Asian Games Enter 100‑Day Countdown
The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) convened its fifth Coordination Committee meeting for the 20th Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026, wrapping up two days of detailed reviews and final‑phase planning on June 11–12.

Iran NOC; Tehran: As reflected by OCA website; the meeting aligned with a major symbolic moment for the Games — the 100day countdown — celebrated on June 11 at the historic Nagoya Noh Theatre. During the ceremony, organizers unveiled the official torch for the relay, alongside the gold, silver, and bronze medal designs, signaling the event’s transition into its final preparation stage ahead of the September 19 to October 4 competition window.

Battushig Batbold, Coordination Committee member, President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, and IOC Member, reflected on the committee’s constructive progress, noting the comprehensive evaluations spanning competition venues, athlete village readiness, transportation systems, technology infrastructure, and media operations. “It’s inspiring to join colleagues from across Asia as we review the final preparations essential to delivering a successful Games. From September 19 to October 4, over 10,000 athletes from 45 National Olympic Committees will gather in Japan for Asia’s largest multisport event. I look forward to seeing the athletes of Asia unite once again in the spirit of friendship, excellence, and respect” he shared in a social media post.

OCA Coordination Committee Chair Tayyab Ikram played a central role in the 100day countdown ceremony, which also featured the unveiling of torchbearer uniforms and the introduction of celebrities who will lead the first leg of the torch relay. OCA Director General Husain Al Musallam attended as a distinguished guest, alongside Aichi Governor and AINAGOC President Hideaki Ohmura, underscoring the growing anticipation as Japan prepares to welcome athletes and spectators from across the continent.
