Global Environmental Guidelines Discussed with Four Olympic NFs
The National Olympic Committee held a session with four sports federations to review international environmental protection standards, emphasizing the role of sports in promoting sustainability.

Iran NOC; Tehran: The Commission on Sport and Environment convened at the National Olympic Academy’s Farsi Hall, attended by the NOC Vice President and officials from four federations.

 

Dr. Mahin Farhadizad opened the meeting by commemorating martyrs of War and praising athletes’ performances at international events, including the Sanya Asian Beach Games. Dr. Farhadizad highlighted the critical link between environmental health and sporting excellence, noting that host selection for major games often considers environmental standards.  She urged federations and commissions to collaborate in raising awareness and protecting the environment, stressing that the sports community plays a vital role in fostering sustainable practices.

 

Following this, Dr. Manouchehri spoke on the intersection of sport and environmental stewardship. Representatives from the Mountaineering, Skiing, Rowing, and Basketball federations outlined international guidelines for eco-friendly sporting practices. The session also featured scientific presentations on climate change impacts on sports events and the importance of implementing HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) standards in national sports infrastructures.
