NOC Holds Coordination Meeting to Finalize Asian Games Preps

Iran NOC; Tehran: The meeting included NOC Vice Presidents Dr. Mehin Farhadizad and Dr. Gholamreza Norouzi, Chef de Mission Dr. Asghar Rahimi, and other senior officials from relevant federations and committees. Rahimi explained that the purpose of the session was to examine all operational areas and resolve potential concerns ahead of the Games. He noted that unlike previous editions, the 2026 Games will be highly decentralized, with competitions spread across multiple venues, making logistics and athlete services more complex. The meeting focused on planning to ensure a seamless experience for the delegation before, during, and after the competitions.

NOC Vice-President Dr. Farhadizad highlighted the importance of early coordination to address challenges such as travel between accommodation and competition sites and the absence of a centralized athletes’ village. She emphasized that sharing the experience of senior officials with team leaders will be crucial for smooth delegation management. Dr. Norouzi provided a comprehensive update on medical and sports science preparations, confirming that medical examinations, health screenings, anti-doping measures, and emergency protocols are fully in place.

The discussion also covered athlete apparel, travel and ticket arrangements, finalization of the delegation roster, and systematic procedures for team management. The NOC confirmed that weekly coordination meetings will continue to ensure maximum preparedness, effective communication, and efficient operation for the Iranian delegation during the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
