20 Medals Bagged at Asian U23, Junior & Para Canoe Championships
Iranian paddlers concluded the Asian Under-23, Junior, and Para Canoe Championships in Kazakhstan, with a total haul of 20 medals.

Iran NOC; Tehran: event featured competitions across three disciplines, with Iranian athletes competing against top paddlers from across Asia. The Iranian team secured 20 medals in total, including four golds, six silvers, and ten bronzes, demonstrating the country’s growing strength in flatwater and para canoe disciplines. In the women’s KL3 500m Para Canoe final, Shehla Behroozi Rad claimed gold with a time of 2:27.460, finishing ahead of Uzbekistan’s perennial rival, Shehnazov, while the Japanese athlete took bronze. In the men’s VL2 500m final, Eslam Jahedi captured gold with a mark of 2:45.022, outpacing competitors from Japan and Kazakhstan.

 

The Iranian men’s U23 four-person kayak team, Abbas Hosseini, Amirreza Barzegar, Abolfazl Janati, and Amirreza Oladian, finished fourth in the 500m final, recording 1:31.066, behind Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Singapore. Over the course of four days, Iran’s performance across U23, junior, and para canoe events highlighted both emerging talent and the nation’s continued commitment to developing elite paddlers in Asia.
