Sports Medicine Fellows Attend Taping Workshop at NOA
A specialized workshop on athletic taping techniques was held for eight sports medicine fellows from Shahid Beheshti University. The training took place at the Sports Medicine Center of the National Olympic Academy.

Iran NOC; Tehran: Athletic taping is recognized as an effective therapeutic method for sports-related injuries, commonly employed by sports physiotherapy specialists. Driven by the growing need within the sports medicine community for proficiency in taping – a valuable approach for both injury prevention and management – and in response to a request from Shahid Beheshti University’s faculty, the workshop was organized. The session, which included hands-on instruction, was led by Hossein Ghasemabadi, a physiotherapist at the National Olympic Academy’s Sports Medicine Center. The participants comprised third and fourth-year sports medicine fellows from Shahid Beheshti University.

Attendees received practical training on various sports taping applications, including the use of rigid sports tape and kinesiology tape, focusing on their utilization in common sports injury sites. Earlier in the day, participants met with Dr. Laleh Hakimi, Director of the National Olympic Academy’s Sports Medicine Center. During this introductory session, they were briefed on the workshop’s structure and gained insights from Dr. Hakimi’s extensive experience in sports medicine.
