Junior Freestyle Wrestling Bags Asian Title
Iranian junior Freestyle Wrestling team captured the Asian championship in Da Nang, Vietnam, finishing on top of the team standings with a haul of four gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.

Iran NOC; Tehran: The Asian Junior Freestyle Wrestling Championships were held in Da Nang, where Iran delivered a standout performance to secure the team title with 178 points, ahead of Japan and India. Iran’s gold medals came through Mahdi Demirchli at 45 kg, Benyamin Ashofteh at 51 kg, Arman Elahi at 55 kg, and Amirali Farasti at 80 kg. Silver medals were claimed by Amirali Ragheb in the 48 kg division and Amirhossein Esmaeili at 110 kg, while Mohammad Taha Ganjeh at 60 kg and Amirabbas Lotfinejad at 65 kg earned bronze.

 

In the final team standings, Iran topped the table with 178 points, followed by Japan with 165 and India with 153. Uzbekistan placed fourth with 148 points, Kazakhstan was fifth with 133, and Kyrgyzstan finished sixth with 69. Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, and South Korea completed the top 10. The result underlined Iran’s continued strength in age-group wrestling across the continent and marked another notable achievement for the country’s talent pipeline on the Asian stage.
