Iran Women’s Volleyball Claims Central Asia Championship Title
Iran’s national women’s volleyball team has successfully defended its Central Asia Championship title, securing the gold medal for the second consecutive year. The victory also marks Iran’s first gold medal of the 1405 calendar year in volleyball.

Iran NOC; Tehran: In the final match held in Kathmandu, Nepal, the Iranian squad, coached by Lee Do-hee, defeated Kazakhstan in a 3-1 victory. While Iran lost the second set 25-19, they secured wins in the first, third, and fourth sets with scores of 25-18, 25-15, and 25-21, respectively.

This championship follows a series of recent successes for Iranian volleyball, including a silver medal at the 2026 Asian Beach Games, silver and bronze medals in Asian Central U18 Beach Volleyball, and a silver medal in the Asian Men’s Volleyball Champions League. The women’s team’s gold medal is the fifth medal overall and the most prestigious for Iran this year. This repeat championship is particularly significant, as the women’s team previously broke a 62-year drought by winning their first gold medal in this competition last year. Their continued success in 2026 underscores the program’s growth and competitive standing.
