Iranian cadet Greco-Roman wrestling team delivered a dominant performance at the Asian Championships in Da Nang, Vietnam, winning the continental title in emphatic fashion with six gold medals, one silver and one bronze.

NOC; Tehran: The Asian Cadet Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships were held in
Da Nang, where the Iranian team topped the standings with 205 points to secure
the championship title. Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan followed with 161 points
each, while Kazakhstan finished fourth with 144 points. China placed fifth with
118 points, ahead of South Korea, India, Japan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
Iran’s
gold medals were won by Armin Esmaeili in the 45kg, Ali Esmaeili at 48kg, Vahid
Ashiri at 55kg, Amirreza Tahmasbpour at 60kg, Amirreza Mehri at 92kg, and Ali
Akbar Akou at 110kg. Esmaeil Zaherdoust claimed the silver medal in the 71kg
division, while Mehdi Gholamian took bronze in the 80kg.
With
six titles across different weight categories, Iran once again demonstrated its
strength and depth in Greco-Roman wrestling at the youth level. The team’s
commanding results in Vietnam highlighted the country’s continued excellence in
the discipline and confirmed its status as one of Asia’s leading forces in
age-group wrestling.
