NOA Holds Specialized Anti-Doping Workshop for National Coaches
The National Olympic Academy (NOA) recently convened a high-level “Anti-Doping Essentials” workshop, gathering 20 head coaches and technical officials from various national teams to update their knowledge on global clean sport standards.

Iran NOC; Tehran: The program, held at Dr. Tehranchi Hall, focused on the evolving complexities of anti-doping in modern sports. Workshop Director Dr. Mehrshad Poursaeid emphasized that today’s coaching requires more than just awareness of prohibited substances; it demands mastery of digital tools and a deep understanding of legal frameworks to protect athletes. The comprehensive curriculum was divided into four strategic areas:

-Digital Management: Practical training on the ADEL platform and Global DRO for real-time medication inquiries.

-Medical Protocols: Advanced sessions on Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE) and the Athlete Biological Passport.

-Legal Transparency: An in-depth review of WADA regulations and results management.

-Operational Standards: Mastery of scientific sampling procedures and international testing protocols.

To ensure the highest level of instruction, the workshop featured prominent experts, including Dr. Laleh Hakemi (Vice President of the Sports Medicine Federation) and Dr. Reza Saeedi (Secretary-General of NADO). Their involvement ensured that national coaches were briefed on the latest international protocols and case studies. This initiative, organized by the NOA Training Center, underscores Iran’s proactive commitment to “Clean Championships.” By empowering coaches, who serve as the frontline for athlete education, the Academy aims to foster a culture of integrity and ethical excellence across all sporting disciplines.
