The 60th meeting of the National Olympic Committee’s Cultural Commission was convened with the participation of the NOC President, focusing on the naming of Iran’s delegation for the Asian Indoor Games in Riyadh and on shaping the narrative of recent sporting achievements.

NOC; Tehran: Members of the Cultural Commission discussed and reviewed various
options for the official name of delegation at the Riyadh Asian Indoor Games,
and a shortlist of proposed names was submitted to the NOC President for final
consideration. In the meeting, Mr. Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, President of the
National Olympic Committee, also reflected on the Asian Beach Games in Sanya,
China, highlighting the special conditions under which the Iranian delegation
took part. He noted that, despite the country being in a wartime situation and
many experts doubting the feasibility of participation, Team Iran was sent
through meticulous planning and extra effort, ultimately delivering its
best-ever results in the history of these Games. Commission members then
presented and approved proposals on how to narrate and preserve this success
story, emphasizing sustained storytelling in national media, public spaces such
as squares and streets, and across broadcasting and digital platforms.
The
60th session of the Cultural Commission was held with the presence of Mahmoud
Khosravi Vafa (NOC President), Mr. Ali Sarlak (Commission Chair), Maryam
Jalali, Gholamhossein Shabani, Majid Zeinolabedin, Alireza Moaf, Mohammad-Kazem
Hojaji, and Masoud Moeinipour as members of the Commission.
