The 56th session of the Cultural Commission of the National Olympic Committee was held in the presence of the NOC President and Secretary-General, focusing on preparations for upcoming major events, particularly the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
Iran
NOC; Tehran: The NOC President outlined key aspects of four major events
scheduled for next year, with special emphasis on the Nagoya Asian Games. He
explained that, unlike previous editions, competitions will not be centralized
in a single athletes’ village, as teams will be accommodated and compete across
multiple locations. As a result, implementing on-site cultural programmes
during the Games will present logistical challenges, making pre-departure
cultural planning and coordination essential.
The
Commission Chair also underlined the importance of appointing a dedicated
project lead for the cultural programme of next year’s Games and emphasized the
need for structured coordination with national federations and team coaches to
ensure effective implementation. Commission members also discussed the growing
pressure faced by athletes on social media platforms and proposed strategies to
address and manage such challenges.
The
NOC Secretary-General further highlighted examples of professional conduct and
regulatory compliance within the International Olympic Committee framework,
stressing the legal and professional responsibilities of athletes and coaches
regarding social media use during training camps and competitions.
