The closing ceremony of the “From Idea to Business in Sport” event was held at the National Olympic Academy with the presence of the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, the Minister of Sport and Youth, and the Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran, alongside senior sports and academic officials.

Simaei-Sarraf described the event as a valuable platform where ideas are
transformed into commercial value, stressing that technology is reshaping all
aspects of life and can significantly reduce costs and improve performance in
sport. He noted that the sports industry remains a vast market that must move
more decisively toward innovation.
Minister
of Sport and Youth Ahmad Donyamali referred to a recent memorandum of
understanding between the two ministries, focused on developing sports
technology in university elite sport and expanding grassroots sport in academic
environments. He emphasized that without adequate investment in sports
technology and artificial intelligence, progress will remain slow and Iran risks
falling behind global developments. During the ceremony, the launch of a smart
monitoring system for national team athletes by the NOC’s National Teams
Monitoring Centre was welcomed. At the conclusion of the event, six federations
such as Wrestling, Cycling, Handball, Wushu, Sport for All and the Federation
of Sports for the Disabled were recognized as leading federations in the field
of sports technology, and top products, ideas and exhibitors were honored.
