A meeting of the Peace and Sport Commission of the National Olympic Committee was held at the NOC headquarters with the participation of the commission’s Chair, secretary and members.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The session emphasized
on the advisory and decision-shaping role of the commission. In view of the
upcoming International Day of Peace and Sport and the importance of global
engagement with this occasion, members discussed the concept of “Peace and
Sport Champion” and exchanged views on drafting guidelines for its
implementation. The meeting also concluded with unanimous agreement that the
Peace and Sport Commission should establish closer cooperation with national
sports federations and develop educational and analytical programmes aimed at
promoting the peaceful values of Olympism among athletes and champions.
