The 11th meeting of the NOC Women and Sport Commission was held with the participation of a majority of members.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Dr. Farhadizad,
the Commission Chair and NOC Vice-President opened the meeting with a briefing
on the third edition of the Olympic Ambassadors programme, hosted by Hormozgan
Province with athletes from several provinces. The programme focused on
promoting Olympic values, athlete safeguarding and gender equality, alongside
practical workshops in water and beach sports and environmental protection. She announced that the next Olympic
Ambassadors course will be held in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province,
stressing the importance of expanding such initiatives nationwide.
During the meeting, a commission
member highlighted the importance of educational content production and
proposed translating and localizing materials produced by the International
Olympic Committee, with reference to the social development framework of the
Olympic Council of Asia. The Commission also reviewed a report on the “Champion
of the City” initiative, noting a steady increase in women’s participation in
recent years through events held in public urban spaces. At the conclusion of
the meeting, it was approved that athlete safeguarding classes be organized in
cooperation with Tehran Municipality, and that the fourth Women and Sport
Conference be held next
