The Opening Ceremony of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics officially got underway on Friday evening, marking a historic first with ceremonies held simultaneously across four different locations.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Designed to
reflect the wide geographic spread of the Games, the opening celebrations are
staged in Milan, Predazzo, Livigno and Cortina d’Ampezzo, where athletes are
based during the competition period. Iranian delegation is taking part in the
Parade of Nations across three venues — Predazzo, Livigno and Cortina
d’Ampezzo. According to organizers, the Iranian flag is being carried in
Predazzo, one of the key hubs of the opening programme.

Olympics feature thousands of athletes from around the world, with the
multi-venue opening ceremony format representing a new chapter in the history
of the Winter Games. Iran is competing at these Games with a delegation of four
athletes, with Samaneh Beyrami Baher and Daniel Saveh Shemshaki serving as the
country’s flag bearers at the Opening Ceremony.
