Shahin Sabzi claimed the silver medal at the Asian Under-21 Snooker Championships, finishing runner-up in the final and adding another notable achievement to Iran’s snooker record.

Championships were held from 3 to 6 February 2026 in Qatar, with Iran
represented by Shahin Sabzi, Armin Javaheri, Shahab Ali Esmaili and Arshia
Jookar. At the end of the group stage, Sabzi, Javaheri and Esmaili advanced to
the knockout rounds, while Jokar was eliminated. In the round of 16, Sabzi
produced an impressive performance to defeat his Chinese opponent 4–2 and
progress to the quarter-finals. At the same stage, Javaheri and Esmaili were
both eliminated after 4–0 defeats against opponents from Pakistan and Hong
Kong.
Sabzi continued his strong run in
the quarter-finals by overcoming Ziad Al-Ghabani of Saudi Arabia, a victory
that secured him at least a bronze medal and a place in the semi-finals. He
then booked his spot in the final with a convincing 4–1 win in the semi-final. In
the final match, Sabzi faced Ahsan Ramzan of Pakistan and, despite a determined
effort, was defeated 4–1 to finish with the silver medal in the Asian Under-21
Snooker Championships. Sabzi had previously won a bronze medal at the Asian
senior snooker championships, underlining his growing profile and the emergence
of a promising new generation in Iranian snooker.
