The Host City Contract for the 10th Asian Winter Games in 2029 has been signed between the Olympic Council of Asia and the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The signing ceremony was held today in Milan, Italy, with the participation of senior continental and international sports officials. Under the agreement, the city of Almaty will host the 10th edition of the Asian Winter Games in 2029.
The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Olympic Council of Asia, along with members of the International Olympic Committee, presidents and representatives of international and continental federations, senior officials, and representatives of National Olympic Committees.
During the ceremony, the OCA President emphasized that the signing of the Host City Contract reflects the Olympic Council of Asia’s strong commitment to the development and promotion of winter sports across the Asian continent.
He also noted that the Asian Winter Games serve as an important platform for strengthening cooperation and solidarity among National Olympic Committees, in line with the Olympic Council of Asia’s vision to advance Asian sport at all levels. The Almaty 2029 Asian Winter Games will mark the 10th edition of the event and are expected to see broad participation from across Asia, reflecting the continent’s growing presence in winter sports and the continued development of their organizational and technical structures.
