The 54th General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of Iran was held in Tehran in the presence of senior sports officials, including the Minister of Sport and Youth.
Iran NOC; Tehran: During the
session, key governance and administrative matters related to the future of the
Committee were reviewed and discussed by the Assembly members.
Following deliberations, the
General Assembly approved, by a majority vote, the postponement of the next
election cycle of the National Olympic Committee. Under the adopted resolution,
the elections will be delayed by four months, while the subsequent term will be
extended to a two-year period. The decision was taken within the legal authority
of the Assembly and in line with procedural requirements. According to
officials, the postponement aims to ensure greater organizational stability,
improve alignment with national and international sporting calendars, and allow
for more effective planning and management of the Committee’s electoral and
executive processes.
