The National Olympic Committee on Sunday hosted its first professional conference for national team coaches, presenting a unified “Roadmap to Championship” aimed at strengthening performance pathways across elite sport.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The event was
attended by the NOC President Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, Secretary-General Dr. Mahdi
Alinejad, and senior officials, with more than 120 active national team coaches
taking part. NOC officials emphasized on the strategic role of coaches not only
in technical preparation but also in athlete development, ethics and long-term
performance sustainability. The forum was positioned as the starting point for
a coordinated framework to align coaching education, professional standards and
institutional support within national teams.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Reza
Shajie underlined the Monitoring Centre’s commitment to closer cooperation with
coaches, noting that needs-based assessments and targeted workshops would form
the backbone of future support programmes. A moderated discussion session
allowed coaches to raise operational and professional concerns, which organizers
said would feed into upcoming policy and training initiatives.
