The first meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia’s (OCA) Para-Asian Committee was held online with the participation of Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, Chair of the committee and President of Iran National Olympic Committee, OCA Director General Hussain Al Musallam, and Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) President Majed Rashid.

was appointed as Chair of the Para-Asian Committee on the sidelines of the 44th
OCA General Assembly last year. During the meeting, the committee members were
introduced and the general policies, programmes and areas of cooperation
between OCA and APC were reviewed and outlined. Al Musallam highlighted the key
role of the Para-Asian Committee in strengthening cooperation with the APC and
supporting the development of para-sports across Asia. Majed Rashid also
welcomed the formation of the committee and described the upcoming Asian Para
Games as an important test for closer coordination between the two organizations.
At the end of the meeting,
members shared their views, and it was agreed that the proposed programmes and
activities would be reviewed and submitted for approval at the upcoming OCA
General Assembly.
