On the final day of the registration window for elections to the Athletes’ Commission of the National Olympic Committee of Iran, a new group of athletes filed their candidacies.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The latest
registrants were Mohammadreza Geraei (Wrestling), Negin Altoni (Karate), Fazel
Atrachali (Kabaddi), Zahra Karimi (Kabaddi), Mehran Barkhordari (Taekwondo),
Roya Davoudian (Kabaddi), Amin Mirzazadeh (Wrestling), Danial Saveh-Shemshaki
(Skiing), Mostafa Mirjavadi (Weightlifting), Alireza Yousefi (Weightlifting)
and Mehdi Jelveh-Qaziani (Volleyball).
Over the previous five days,
several other athletes had already submitted the required documents and
nomination forms, including Ali Labib (Cycling), Amir JohariKhoo (Shooting),
Shahrebanoo Mansourian (Wushu), Amir Mehdizadeh (Karate), Milad Vaziri
(Archery), Ali Pakdaman (Fencing), Sajad Ganjzadeh (Karate), Farzaneh Fasihi
(Athletics), Frank Partoazar (Cycling), Elaheh Mansourian (Wushu), Sorayya
Aghaei (Badminton), Hanieh Rostamian (Shooting), Ali Davoudi (Weightlifting),
Hassan Taftian (Athletics), Arian Salimi (Taekwondo), Mobina Ne’matzadeh
(Taekwondo), Nahid Kiani (Taekwondo), Farzaneh Reza-Soltani (Skiing), Najmeh
Khedmati (Shooting) and Rahman Amouzad (Wrestling).
With the close of the nomination
period, a total of 31 athletes entered the race for seats on the NOC Athletes’
Commission. According to protocol, the final list of eligible candidates will
be announced after a review of general qualifications by the competent
authorities. The election is scheduled to take place on 18 December 2025.
