In line with the National Olympic Committee of Iran’s policy to expand regional and international sports relations, the Presidents of the National Olympic Committees of Iran and Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on sports cooperation.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The agreement
was signed on the sidelines of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh
during a meeting between Mahmoud Khosravivafa, President of the NOC of the
Islamic Republic of Iran, and Arif Saeed, President of the Pakistan Olympic
Association, at the Hilton Hotel.
During the meeting, both sides
emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral sports ties and agreed to
facilitate the participation of national teams from both countries in training
camps, tournaments, and international educational programs. The MoU aims to
promote collaboration in areas such as exchange of experience, development of
sports infrastructure, and implementation of joint projects across various
disciplines. According to the agreement, joint working groups will be
established to monitor and ensure effective implementation of the outlined
initiatives.
The meeting was also attended by
Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General of Iran’s NOC, and his Pakistani
counterpart. Following the signing ceremony, Khosravivafa officially invited
Arif Saeed to visit Iran in the near future to review the country’s sports
facilities and identify potential disciplines for joint training camps. Both
sides agreed that the Secretaries General of the two committees will hold
expert-level sessions to coordinate and oversee the execution of the Memorandum
of Understanding.
