The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement expressing appreciation to the athletes of the “Ambassadors of Hope” delegation, as well as to the Ministry of Sport and Youth, national federations, and team officials for their efforts during the 3rd Asian Youth Games Bahrain 2025.
Iran NOC; Tehran: According
to the statement, following Bahrain’s confirmation as host, joint meetings were
held between the Ministry and the NOC to ensure a strong and coordinated
participation. Technical and scientific sessions with federations, coaches, and
experts shaped a targeted preparation plan, complemented by continuous
performance assessments and psychological readiness programmes. Despite a
challenging period marked by a twelve-day conflict, Iranian athletes
demonstrated resilience and continued their training with determination to
represent their nation proudly.
The NOC noted that with
239 athletes across 22 sports, Team Iran achieved a historic result, finishing
fourth overall with a 16-place rise from the previous edition and recording a
950 per cent increase in total medals. Nearly 70 per cent of the athletes won
medals, including landmark achievements in women’s boxing, judo, basketball,
and swimming, alongside outstanding performances in volleyball, futsal,
handball, and martial arts. The statement concludes with gratitude to the
Government, the Parliament, and the Ministry of Sport and Youth for their support,
emphasizing that these achievements are the outcome of long-term planning,
teamwork, and belief in the nation’s young generation — paving the way for
further success at upcoming events including the Dakar Youth Olympic Games, the
Aichi–Nagoya Asian Games, and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
