Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, President of Iran’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) and member of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Executive Board, presented the medals in the men’s over-73kg Taekwondo event at the Bahrain 2025 Asian Youth Games.
                
								
                
									
                    Iran NOC; Tehran: The first day of the Taekwondo kyourugi competitions
concluded with medal ceremonies in four weight categories. In the men’s
over-73kg division, gold went to the athlete from South Korea, while Tajikistan
took silver. The bronze medals were shared between competitors from Vietnam and
Mongolia. Khosravi Vafa, who also serves as the OCA’s Paralympic Committee
Chair, awarded the medals to the winners following the final bouts.
Iran’s Asal Gol-Tappeh, the Iranian flagbearer, claimed a silver medal
earlier in the day in the women’s over-63kg category, marking the nation’s only
podium finish of the session. In the same event, Iran’s Mohammad Hossein
Taghipour was among the medal contenders in the men’s over-73kg class but was
forced to withdraw due to injury.
