Iran’s national Greco-Roman wrestling team claimed the overall title at the U23 World Championships in Serbia after earning three gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

Sad, where Iranian wrestlers delivered a dominant performance to secure first
place in the team standings with 143 points, ahead of Ukraine with 96 and
Azerbaijan with 93.
The gold medals were won by Iman Mohammadi in the 72kg category,
Gholamreza Farkhi in 87kg and Fardin Hedayati in 130kg. Sajad Abbaspour earned
silver in 60kg, while Ahmadreza Mohsannezhad in 67kg and Abolfazl Mehdipour in
82kg took bronze medals. This marks Iran’s third team title at the U23 World
Championships under head coach Hassan Rangraz, following victories in 2022 and
2024. Iran missed the 2023 edition due to visa issues with the host country,
Albania. Iranian wrestlers showcased impressive strength, technique and
determination, reaffirming the country’s leading position in world Greco-Roman
wrestling.
