A delegation from the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) visited several major sports venues across Tehran, including the Azadi Sports Complex, Iran Mall, and university facilities, as part of their assessment of Iran’s proposal to host the 2029 Islamic Solidarity Games.
                
								
                
									
                    Iran NOC; Tehran: The visiting delegation—comprising Secretary-General
Nasser Eimen Al-Majali, Fatma Masoud Hayat, Fajer Jassim Hassan Mohammed, and
Ashraf Sayed Abdul Latif—was accompanied by Iran NOC Secretary-General Dr.
Mahdi Alinejad during their inspection of venues such as Shooting, Archery, Wrestling,
Weightlifting, Volleyball, Swimming, and the 12,000-seater indoor hall at
Azadi. The ISSA officials also toured facilities in the Iran Mall sports
complex, including Padel courts, a 3x3 Basketball arena, and the rooftop
multi-purpose hall. Further visits included the athletics stadium at Aftab
Enghelab, Shahid Shiroudi Complex, Shahid Kabkanian Climbing Gym, the House of
Taekwondo, and sports halls at Tehran University and Islamic Azad University. Throughout
the inspections, Iranian federation presidents and venue managers briefed the
delegation on available infrastructure and readiness to host the Games. Iran is
competing with Malaysia and Uzbekistan to secure hosting rights for the 2029
Islamic Solidarity Games, following the upcoming Riyadh 2025 edition.
