The farewell ceremony for Iran’s delegations to the Bahrain Asian Youth Games and the Riyadh Islamic Solidarity Games was held at the National Olympic Academy, attended by top national and sports officials.
Iran NOC, Tehran: The event
brought together Minister of Sports and Youth Ahmad Donyamali, Minister of
Cultural Heritage and Tourism Seyed Reza Salehi-Amiri, NOC President Mahmoud
Khosravi Vafa, Secretary-General Mahdi Alinejad, ministry deputies, federation
presidents, and athletes from both delegations “Ambassadors of Hope” and
“Ambassadors of Power.” The ceremony featured a documentary on Team Iran,
traditional sports performances, and musical pieces by renowned singers Peyman
Azizi and Hojjat Ashrafzadeh. Minister Donyamali read a message from President
Masoud Pezeshkian, who praised the athletes as “proud ambassadors of Iran,”
urging them to embody sportsmanship and Iranian-Islamic values while striving
for medals in Bahrain and Riyadh.
Flag bearers Maryam Barbat
(Riyadh 2025), Asal Gol Tapeh, and Mehdi Jamali (Bahrain Youth Games) took the
athlete’s oath, while the national flag was officially presented to them
through cultural rituals. The ceremony
concluded with the national anthem “Iran,” marking a spirited departure for
Iran’s young champions ahead of two major continental events.
