The seventh meeting of the National Olympic Committee’s Women and Sport Commission was held at the NOC headquarters.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Dr. Mahin Farhadizad, NOC Vice President and Chair
of the Women and Sport Commission, opened the session by discussing current
priorities in women’s sport. She also reviewed recent meetings with the General
Sports Federation and the Physical Fitness Federation, highlighting new avenues
for joint cooperation. As part of these collaborations, it was agreed to hold
“Athlete Empowerment Workshops with a Focus on Athlete Protection” across ten
provinces for non-Olympic athletes who have competed at the world or
continental level.
The details of the first workshop were confirmed as follows:
* To be held on October 21 in Tehran Province, in cooperation with the
Sports for All Federation and the Tehran Department of Physical Education.
* To include 30 athletes and their coaches.
* Promotional posters will be designed using elements provided by the
International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Other topics discussed during the session included sponsorship
opportunities for upcoming commission events and new educational modules for
the Olympic Ambassadors program. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mahin Farhadizad
(Chair), Fariba Madadi, Afsaneh Dehqani, Nahid Karimi, Tahereh Alishavandi,
Mahboubeh Moradi, Nasrin Shakerifard, Elaheh Zakeri, Nasrin Rezaei, and Maryam
Faridar.
