President of the National Olympic Committee of Iran (NOC Iran), Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, and Secretary General Dr. Mahdi Alinejad left for Lausanne, Switzerland to meet with IOC President Kirsty Coventry.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Following
Kirsty Coventry’s election as President of the International Olympic Committee
(IOC) and the initial meeting between Iranian NOC officials and her on the
sidelines of the OCA General Assembly in Kuwait, it was agreed that an official
visit to the IOC Headquarters be arranged to strengthen bilateral cooperation
and mutual engagement. Accordingly, Khosravi Vafa and Alinejad NOC President
and secretary-General departed for Lausanne for that purpose. During this
visit, the Iranian delegation will also hold meetings with senior IOC directors
and departments to explore ways of expanding cooperation, strengthening
institutional relations, and benefiting from the IOC’s existing programs and
initiatives. The delegation also includes Nahid Kiani, Taekwondo world
champion, Olympian and Paris 2024 silver medalist; Atefeh Eslamiian, Director
of International Relations and Farid Fattahian, Advisor to the NOC President.
